6️⃣ The superstition 6️⃣ of numerology 6️⃣

Write down the number 3 and no one will bat an eye. Write down the number 13 and people will question what you’re doing. Why you gotta jinx us? Write down the number 6 and people might raise an eyebrow. Write down 666, and people will soil themselves. They’ll run screaming from the room believing you’re about to summon a demon. Da Debil! He raisin da Debil! You can raise the Devil by writing down a number, in 2000 years, JC ain’t shown his face. Do people even know why they’re afraid of these numbers? Do they have any first hand experience on why they should be afraid or cautious? Why is 13 bad, but 12 and 14 are fine? Why is 6 fine, 66 is conceding, and 666 is stepping over the line? Why do so many athletes turn the number 13 upside down during a competition? Why have some participants even withdrawn from an event instead of wearing […]

☁️ Wait, maybe I do know where Heaven and Hell are 🔥

So, at this juncture in the road, is Heaven to the left or the right? It’s not on the map, so I feel a little lost… No person of sound mind believes in the existence of a physical Heaven or Hell as described in the Bible, Dante’s Inferno, or any other book spouting those fictions. They aren’t destinations you can hop into the car and visit. You don’t swing by the local gas station or corner shop and ask for directions as if you’re going to Taco Bell. You can’t buy a bus ticket or get airfare for a weekend getaway. It would be funny to cruise down the highway and see a sign saying Heaven,18 miles, left lane. Despite the fictional texts, Heaven isn’t a real destination. It isn’t a city among the clouds. You don’t float around, wearing pristine white, looking down on people while cherubs play on harps. You want a carriage made from a pumpkin, drawn […]

⚖️ What’s the point of old an outdated laws?

I find it amusing when people get frustrated and even mock old and outdates laws, like getting a fine for leaving your dead horse in the street. That’s from the 1800s, during the time of horse and buggy, when ignoring a dead horse in the street was a sanitation issue. But, the cities and states are either too lazy to take them off the books, it’s somehow too expensive, or governments don’t even know they exist. They’re so arcane, no one runs into them anymore. Equally, politicians and lawmakers don’t actually know how laws work, so they aren’t sure what’s on the books. There are relic laws pertaining to piracy too. If you commit an act of aggression on water within certain boundaries of the city, it’s considered piracy. That body of water might be a lake or river and no one would consider its use to fall within the realm of piracy, but by definition, it can and has […]

🌻 Spring Cleaning, Digital Detox, Destruction Ritual

The act of “Spring Cleaning” is usually a cliche, but this year I’ve dug in deep and have been throwing out physical and virtual items left and right. Spring Cleaning: Throwing away physical items is the hardest, but I’ve forced myself to take stock and ask: When the answer is no, it goes into the pile for donation if it has any value, or straight into the trash. I really have to ask, why am I holding onto empty boxes? I have a hard time with this because physical things cost money. It’s hard to throw cash into the trash. But, if something sits the closest, and doesn’t move for months, or longer, what’s its value? Or maybe it has purpose for someone else, and I’m now the messenger. I found myself asking: That last one is a little embarrassing, but it has led to a couple of, “There it is!” moments, which was pretty cool. Digital Detox: The digital […]
