Your Vote DOES Matter
For more than two years, Trump and his racist, conspiracy theory toting thugs, have tried to convince people that elections and voting don’t matter. Elections are rigged, riddled with fraud, and massive corruption, so why bother? Casting a vote is like throwing it down the toilet, despite the fact none of this “massive evidence” has ever seen the light of day, and every claim of fraud has been thrown out.
Despite being repeatedly shot down, hundreds of elected officials, and those wanting to be elected, are election deniers. Not only do they deny the results of elections, they aren’t in favor of having them, unless they win.
Here we are on the cusp of a 2022 election, a right that people have died to protect and we have politicians already claiming the election is a fraud, they’ve already won, certain ballots don’t count, ballots are being counted incorrectly, they won’t concede regardless of the outcome, and if they lose, there will be blood in the streets.
All of this on top of gerrymandering, obvious voter intimidation, and desperate ploys to change voting procedures. As well as scam rules on how legitimate votes can be thrown away, where votes can be counted, who can count them, who can certify them, and how those certifications can be voided.
The world mocked Russia and the sham elections proving Ukrainians loved their new Overlords, and the resistance, gunfire, and devastation was all play acting.
We’re now smack in the middle of what may become our own sham elections with politicians saying votes that go against them don’t count. Votes that remove them from power aren’t valid. Only if you vote the right way, in the right place, at the right time, in person, on a single day, will it be counted.
What really frightens me is this election isn’t about issues at all. It’s not about better education for everyone, better health care for everyone, especially seniors, more opportunities for small business owners, or what to do about taxes. It’s about preserving the right to vote. It’s about the idea that the US will hold free elections in 2024.
So, despite the little toy soldiers in their play fatigues holding guns bigger than anything else they’ve ever had in their hands, it’s important to push past the bullshit, past the intimidation, past the threats, and cast a vote. Make your voice heard.
And if someone gets in the way, there is always the subtle tactic of punching them in the balls, knocking them out.
Just keep in mind:
Should a politician be someone who doesn’t think elections are valid?
Should a politician be someone who won’t abide by the rules of elections?
Should a politician be someone who thinks dictatorships are cool?
You also have to wonder, if your biggest ambition in politics is to be biggest pain in the ass to the current President, should you really be in politics? I’m pretty sure there are better qualifications than “Asshole.”
If you were interviewing someone for a job, and asked, “Why do you want to come work for us?” and they replied, “So I can be biggest asshole your CEO has ever seen!” would you hire them?
I have fear for Arizona.
