Christians are not a silent, defenseless minority

Christians portray themselves as an under attack minority, picked on because all they want to do is raise children in a safe environment. They play the, “Raise children in a safe environment” a lot. We all wants that. But, this “attack” means exposure to anything Christians find offensive, don’t like, or disagree with. That includes any book, movie, TV show, or group that challenges, questions, or undermines the authority of their Bible. Christians live in the Dark Ages, basing their view of the world on 2,000 year old doctrine where: Women are property Slavery is fine Science is heresy Learning is for the elite, meaning clergy, who teach the commoners Drive out the Undesireables The Christian aren’t content to only raise their children, they need to dictate how to raise all children and who can do it according to their definition of “family.” Thus: Same-sex or trans couples adopting and loving children is an “attack.” Same-sex or trans couples enjoying […]

Living a life of constant fear and anxiety

Fundamentalists claim Satan is the ultimate evil, corrupting man and tempting "souls." Every day, at each turn, humans are in peril because of the evil influences of books, television, movies, comics, and pretty much anything else you can see or hear. It’s a world of complete chaos, and you need to take steps to actively protect yourself, lest you become a victim of Satan’s influence. That’s one claim. The devil is bad and wickedly powerful. Yet, on the other hand, Satan can only work within God’s boundaries and with his permission. He is in-service to, but subservient to God. He may be running amok, tempting man, corrupting youth, but, he’s doing so with God’s approval and permission. It’s what God told him to do? Wait, what? Is this, "I’m totally in charge when you’re not around?" Beside the never-ending personal attacks, Fundamentalists also claim there is a literal war going on. A war that is both everywhere and nowhere, seen […]

DeSantis manages to out Nazi Trump

It’s a sad state of affairs when political “leaders” use human beings as pawns in their sick and twisted grab for power. Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis pulls a Nazi stunt by loading up immigrants, placing them on a transport and shipping them off. It positively reeks of Hitler and concentration camps. Regardless of the problem at a border, which isn’t in Florida, this is no way to treat human beings. This is a shameful political stunt, nothing more. Florida is not under siege or being invaded, despite the DeSantis claims. Further, you have to wonder what’s going on here. DeSantis is of Italian descent, with his ancestors immigrating to the US in 1904. This is a pimp hand, slap in the face to the US for welcoming his family those many years ago. I wonder what his great-great-grandmother would think of the way her descendant is treating other immigrants? Is this how he would have wanted his family treated when […]

Insight into the religious superiority complex

It’s quite incredible the kinds of answers you can find on the Internet, such as, why certain groups feel the need to impose their beliefs on others. It’s a fair question. That revealed this little gem, which gives insight into how Christians see themselves. Christians don’t want to impose their values, but they do recognize that, in every society, someone’s values must reign supreme. Christians work to advance their values in the sincere belief that, in a world of competing convictions, Christian values best promote the general welfare and preserve the domestic tranquility. The reality is that freedom of expression is a Christian value. *he is not trying to impose his values; he is speaking the truth, which anyone is free to accept or reject. If some see that effort as “imposing” our beliefs on them, that is a matter of their perception, not a reflection of reality.* Good thing there is no superiority complex brewing, except for: Their values […]

Satanism isn’t trolling

It’s becoming the norm, any time a Satanist stands up to be counted it’s considered trolling. Celebrate Christmas in a different way? That’s trolling. Want to give an invocation to express a different belief? That’s trolling. Want equality or pluralism in religious teachings? That’s trolling. Want to express a belief system based on logic and science that doesn’t condemn others for being different? That’s trolling and heresy. Despite the dismissive attitude, Satanism isn’t trolling. It’s a belief in a straightforward, tangible code of ethics offering advice on how to act and treat others without a reliance on invisible forces. It’s based on an understanding of the world today, not ideology that’s 2000 years old, and doesn’t include guidelines on how to be prejudice toward others. Like the Bill of Rights, it’s a belief that ALL people are created equal with the right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, not just a select few. It’s a belief that people are […]

QAnon needs to update their Shtick

With all the talk and press surrounding QAnon, I thought I’d look up their talkings points to see if they have new ideas worth considering. Knowledge is power, right? Their sad shtick is mindless rants full of idiotic drivel from decades, even centuries ago. They’ve dredged up the old classic, “Cabal of Satanists” idea. To this they’ve added the cabal of serial child abusers and pedophile rings. To make sure they sound completely stupid, they’ve added Hollywood actors, high-ranking government officials, and business tycoons as members of the cabal. Here a cabal. There a cabal.Everywhere a cabal of cabals. It’s the X-Files bitches! That wasn’t a documentary, just FYI. These are the Golden Oldies for sure. Too bad QAnon didn’t get the memo every one of these is a hoax. They should learn how to do research on the Internet, it’s pretty useful. Everyone knows you can’t get two high-powered companies to agree on a charging cable format, so clearly they […]

Why is it so damn easy to conjure up the devil?

I’ve been troubled by this idea for decades, why is it so damn easy to conjure up an evil spirit out of thin air, but it’s not possible to conjure an angelic one? When David Suhor, gave the invocation in Florida, people believed he was conjuring the devil and screamed about bringing a curse down on them. You can also note David gets a caution not to stray from “invocation” to “incantation,” which I found hysterical. As we saw in Hail Satan, Michelle Short and Stu De Haan, didn’t even get a chance to give an invocation in Arizona. The meeting devolved into claims of more conjuring and curses coming down on them. I have no doubt the misguided Florida attendees chanting prayers with their arms in the air like they just don’t care are under the delusion they thwarted the devil from taking a seat in the chambers. Why do people believe it’s so easy to conjure an evil […]

What Trump can learn from Nixon

On September 8, 1974, Gerald Ford issued a pardon to Richard Nixon, because it would allow America to move forward from the shocking events of Watergate. Nixon, losing the confidence of the people, and other branches of the government, resigned a month earlier. In his resignation he stated, “I will have hastened the start of that process of healing which is so desperately needed in America.” Both men wanted to help heal the country, and address the massive divide that existed in the country. That divide pales in comparison to what exists today. At the time, Nixon’s actions were considered the greatest scandal in history. It’s nothing compared to what we’ve had to endure since 2016, and what we continue to face on a daily basis. We would be a better nation, and better people, if Trump would step down, and step away.

What is wrong with the so called “Leaders?”

Politicians are no longer a beacon of reason, hope, and common sense. They’re become reckless, petulant, and abusive. Nor are they representatives for, or servants of the people. They’re driven by a thirst for power and recognition, not the desire to make the country better. Religious figures don’t offer comfort, they’re too busy dishing out condemnation. Disaster and disease are the work of God to cleanse away sinners. There was also a time when the President was seen as a “Father figure.” For the last 30+ years we’ve seen some of the worst men come to power, culminating in a President literally calling for violence in the streets against other citizens. People may be divided on issues, but when shit has hit the fan, they dropped their rhetoric and worked together. They agreed to squabble once the danger had passed. There is no “we’ll get through this together,” anymore. Politics is dividing and polarizing, forcing people to choose sides. It’s […]
