Settlement reached between Jason Rapert and Atheists
Well, good news, John Rapert, our friend from Hail Satan, reached a settlement with the atheists over his use of Facebook. In simple terms, he is required to unblock them and pay attorneys fees. It was shown that his Facebook page is representative of him as a public official, not him as an individual. There is a big difference, despite his “front porch” argument.
If you do a tiny bit of digging, you can find his Facebook response to the situation. Within 30 seconds he’s on the pulpit. And you can tell he’s pissed.
Right off the bat, he defends Trump, invokes the “woke” cliche, throws out “fake news” term, and the “weaponize.” You can start making Bingo cards with their buzzword. He further spouts there is collusion against him, a la Trumpism. I’ve broken the law, they’re out to get me.
He also insinuates the atheists were engaged in harassment and threatening violence against him and his family. Neither claim was brought up in court by the look of it. Seems like that would have been taken into account.
Within two minutes, which is all I could stomach, you can clearly see the hate, disgust and disdain he has for people who don’t believe the way he does. Further, it’s seems woefully inappropriate for an elected official to refer to people as godless and freaks.
It should also be noted, the state of Arkansas, not Rapert, is footing the bill for the $16,000 legal fee.
As a representative of the “people,” he’s a peach.
