Living a life of constant fear and anxiety
Fundamentalists claim Satan is the ultimate evil, corrupting man and tempting "souls." Every day, at each turn, humans are in peril because of the evil influences of books, television, movies, comics, and pretty much anything else you can see or hear.
It’s a world of complete chaos, and you need to take steps to actively protect yourself, lest you become a victim of Satan’s influence.
That’s one claim. The devil is bad and wickedly powerful.
Yet, on the other hand, Satan can only work within God’s boundaries and with his permission. He is in-service to, but subservient to God. He may be running amok, tempting man, corrupting youth, but, he’s doing so with God’s approval and permission. It’s what God told him to do?
Wait, what?
Is this, "I’m totally in charge when you’re not around?"
Beside the never-ending personal attacks, Fundamentalists also claim there is a literal war going on. A war that is both everywhere and nowhere, seen and unseen. But… God will always win because Satan is subservient to God. God will always triumph because that is the destiny of Satan.
You see many variations of:
Satan must listen to God…
Satan is only permitted…
God has control of Satan, but doesn’t have control over him?
People need to get their story straight. Satan is master of this world. No wait, he’s a puppet on a string. No wait…
From that, God approves everything Satan does? That doesn’t make any damn sense.
Same question for this so called "war."
Why is there a war in the first place?
Why not just bring down the righteousness once and for all and be done with it?
Why all this stalling and messing around?
Why all this jerking around with humanity?
I’ve been around for a few decades now, and I’ve never seen this war. Never felt it either. I’ve never been "compelled" to read a book or watch a movie against my will, except in high school and college English classes. And the occasional date.
Oh that’s right, the Devil wants me to think I have freewill, that’s how he tricks me. If I think I’m making my own choices without influence, I’m obviously not.
By these contradictory definitions, God allows bad things to happen by choice, inaction, or inability to care.
As an entity, he sits back and lets Satan tempt people, cause wickedness, and spread sin. God could stop it through his supreme capabilities, but chooses not too.
How does this make any sense? And why would anyone go along with such nonsense?
With this line of thinking, how do people go outside and function in society? How can you live a normal life when Satan is under the bed every morning and hiding around every corner?
It’s no wonder people are full of anxiety and fear.
