Why is it so damn easy to conjure up the devil?

I’ve been troubled by this idea for decades, why is it so damn easy to conjure up an evil spirit out of thin air, but it’s not possible to conjure an angelic one?

When David Suhor, gave the invocation in Florida, people believed he was conjuring the devil and screamed about bringing a curse down on them.

You can also note David gets a caution not to stray from “invocation” to “incantation,” which I found hysterical.

As we saw in Hail Satan, Michelle Short and Stu De Haan, didn’t even get a chance to give an invocation in Arizona. The meeting devolved into claims of more conjuring and curses coming down on them.

I have no doubt the misguided Florida attendees chanting prayers with their arms in the air like they just don’t care are under the delusion they thwarted the devil from taking a seat in the chambers.

Why do people believe it’s so easy to conjure an evil or demonic force, yet, it’s impossible to call up an angel or some other holy spirit? Not one person yelled back, “Going to conjure up the forces of darkness are you? We’ll back it up, I’m calling down an Archangel and he’ll go YuGiOh all over your ass!”

The only time this idea is even remotely possible is during an exorcism. Then, it’s up to a specially trained priest to perform “the magic.”

A priest needs training, the conjuring is done under special circumstances, and in an elaborate ceremony. They have to get prepared, it takes months, and goes on for weeks maybe months.

On the reverse side, it only takes a guy in a black robe standing in a council meeting to read a couple words. In reality had David gone with, “Are you there Satan? It’s me, David,” people would have literally shit themselves to death. Makes all the sense in the world.

It’s possible to conjure evil spirits, but not angelic ones? Why? Why doesn’t it work that way when they are the same thing? One is a “corrupted” version of the other, no? Following the Bible logic, the angels in hell, are still angels. So, if it works for one type, it works on both, right?

If demons have the role to tempt man, shouldn’t angels have the job to “redeem” man, and thus be on call to quell demonic conjurings?

Further, do people really believe demonic entities are literally sitting around, bored to tears, waiting for a human to mumble a few words so they have something to do?

We also get the comment that simply reading from an “occult” book, or playing an “occult” game opens the door to the demonic. This is the argument against D&D from the 80s, but is still used against Doom and Harry Potter today.

If so, shouldn’t the same be true of reading some form of holy scripture? Reading the Bible should cause an angel to appear shouldn’t it? An angel should pop into material form and go, nice job, thanks for reading that. Not a mere “feeling,” but an actual angel materializing to the reader.

If reading a page or two from a “satanic” work puts you in league with a tangible demon, reading a page or two from a Bible should put you in league with a tangible angel. Again, an actual, tangible being, someone use can use to get into the HOV lane.

This same nonsense thinking permeates the paranormal, ghost hunting shows that abound on TV. They declare there are dark portals in thousands of buildings across the US. Buildings “infested” with dark energy.

If any of this were true, you wouldn’t be able to walk outside without tripping over a demon.

They back this up with the most blatant of pseudoscience. By using “scientific instruments” in the incorrect way and not for their intended purpose, they prove demonic forces exist. Ok spectral evidence.

All of these ideas are from the dark ages. We’ve been able to cure disease, land on the moon, build space stations, create robots, and explore Mars, yet people believe reading a few words from a book will materialize demonic forces.

If that were even possible, why waste time with a petty council meeting. The real power is to roll into the DMV, demon in tow, and cut to the front of the line. “Out of the way peasants, the next number they’re calling is mine!”

Again, the question remains, why is it possible to literally conjure evil out of thin air, yet an angelic entity can’t be conjured up the same way?
