Diligence and care for interpreting the Bible, but not for anything else

At first glance, the bible is full on contradictory details, not to mention an abundance of violence, death, murder, vengeance, and child sacrifice. In trying to sort that, you are met with, “Oh nay nay, you can’t take the bible at face value. It takes careful reading, diligence, and understanding to get the meaning.” Further, “There are no contradictions in the bible. Those can be explained through misinterpretation, misunderstanding, translation error, or old fashioned typos. Hebrew is complex, there are bound to be a few mistakes here and there.” These explain why the bible is never wrong and all the bases are covered, even the bit about dinosaurs. Fair enough. The language is tricky, it’s clearly not in English, and some context is needed. It’s a reach in most cases, but I’m with your meaning.
